All colour photographs will fade with time. The colour dyes that are used in photographs begin to fade after a short period of time under affects of daily environment. To be exact these major substances will contribute to fading: heat, light and moisture. In general, in a fading photograph you would find a loss of detail (mostly in the highlights) as well as colour shift.
